vancouver DOCUMENTARY Portrait photography // editorial and raw

sacred threads

Welcome to the personal projects that drove me to wanting to be a photographer, work that blends my love of documentary storytelling with portraiture.

Here’s the truth: I wanted to be a journalist growing up, but I got scared. And while that dream never came true as hoped, my love for telling stories manifested through my camera, combining documentary photography with intimate portraits, and I am pretty happy with that.

These personal projects, sometimes photo-essays, aim to capture the rhythm of real life and our sacred connections to self, each other and the world around us. They weave together candid documentary moments with thoughtful portraits to create complete narratives.

These images go beyond storytelling. They’re meant to build bridges, inspire action, and shift perspectives. The intention is to reveal how beautifully interwoven we all are, softening hearts and opening pathways of understanding that can spark real change

raw & Unscripted

This type of storytelling, whether in studio or on location,
is meant to be messy, honest, and beautifully unpolished.

There’s no big production, no need for perfection, no hair and makeup, no shot lists and no need for retouching any of it.
Instead, we let your story unfold naturally as it happens.

The best photo essays take place in spaces that hold meaning for you, places that add layers to your narrative and show the reality of lived experiences that are often silently shared.

It’s about capturing the real time in between moments and all the little details that often go overlooked, the quiet truths that make your story real.

Composing Harmonies
From Life’s Delicate Notes

Life’s delicate notes are everywhere: each petal’s curve, the way light kisses the ocean, subtle expressions that cross a face.

Human stories mirror nature’s complexity, full of overlooked details that hold profound meaning. There’s beautiful melancholy in shadows flirting with light, lines on ones face mapping a life, poetry in forgotten connection.

From behind-the-scenes glimpses of dancers and musicians to community narratives near and far, to the delicate details of nature and moments that often go unseen; each story adding its own bassline to the larger symphony of human experience.
