Mateus Studios Welcomes You!

Hello Friends! I am so glad you are here. I am beyond excited to launch this new site for Mateus Studios and dive deep into the world of Boudoir Photography. Honestly, it has started a fire in me that I just can’t explain!

Like all art forms, boudoir can be done in many different ways, and I am excited to show you my vision – but more so, my philosophy of it. For me, boudoir is about self-expression. It’s about allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, to face fears, and to have fun! It is also about being okay to celebrate yourself, because friend, we all deserve to be celebrated! I have thoughtfully chosen to call my sessions EMBRACE Sessions because we all need a good ol’ hug. After all, when was the last time you gave yourself one?

Mateus Studios was born from my heart calling me towards blending my creative side with my background in working with and supporting women.

I want to create a safe space for women like myself, who for a long time may not have felt amazing (inside and out!), and who want to reconnect with themselves in a way that they haven’t for a long time. Also, I started to think about how as women we are always judged – I know you know what I am talking about, sisters! We are either too frumpy, too dressed up, too quiet, too loud, too skinny, or too chubby. People look at us and wonder why we let ourselves go… And the negative self-talk we all have due to this external crap is so hard to shut the F*!$ up!!! We just can’t seem to win, and it makes me crazy!

My goal with Mateus Studios is to hold space for women so that they can express themselves in a way THEY (YOU!) WANT TO! It’s a space where a woman can fully relax into herself. Let me tell you, it’s SO BEAUTIFUL when a woman has the space to accept herself without comparison or shame, and flaunts what she’s got for herself and whoever else she wants to share that with. Or when she owns every part of her story, makes peace with herself, and stops apologizing for what she knows to be true. That, my friends, is pure magic! I’ve seen it happen, I’ve experienced it myself, and it’s my mission to pass it on.

Because girl, you deserve to feel this good!

Ladies, I am here to shout out: IT’S OK FOR US TO TAKE TIME FOR OURSELVES JUST BECAUSE, AND TO WANT TO LOOK AND FEEL AHHHHHMAZING, IN WHATEVER WAY THAT MEANS FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US!

I can’t wait to share stories with you here on my new blog of the women I have been photographing, and those yet to come. I am grateful that women share this space with me and I am truly blown away by the women that have come already, and who have left me excited for what’s to come!
