Vancouver Photographer Showcasing That Women Age 40+ Are Indeed Fabulous

As you likely know, I only shoot women or individuals who identify as women at my Intimate Portrait Sessions, and I do not discriminate. You can be any size or race, and as long as you’re 19+, then you are welcome at Mateus Studios.

If you think you’re too old for this type of thing, I’m here to tell you that is absolutely not true! Women are fabulous beyond 40; women of all ages are incredible beings. Let’s face it, the older you are, likely the wiser you are. And who says ageing is bad?! While ‘society’ might try to tell us that old women aren’t as attractive or good enough, that just simply isn’t the case. And, who is society?! Not a person.

Women Of Any Age Are Amazing.

I say that a lot but I truly believe it. 

In this work of intimate portraits, I’ve noticed quite often that if a woman is say late 40’ies plus, she doesn’t think she deserves to feel incredible. She doesn’t believe that she’s all that beautiful or that she should do an intimate or fine art portrait session. She doesn’t necessarily see herself as someone who is worthy of doing such a thing. It would be wasted on her. She’s not worth it. That’s for the younger generations….you get my drift.

BUT, given the opportunity, every woman CAN see that she is in fact beautiful, and certainly worth it. She just needs that chance. And that’s why Mateus Studios has launched the promotion 40 Over 40 who are “Fabulous Beyond 40”! I want to celebrate women of all ages and give those over 40 that chance to see that they are amazing, gorgeous and fantastic.

Not only does this promotion purposefully offer women over 40 the chance to get pampered and dolled up, they also get to be featured at a Gallery Exhibition type of event later this year (fingers crossed it can be in person) where all of the women who participate can see not only themselves, but boudoir images of other fantastic women too. This will be the Celebration of everyone attending, family and friends too.

Age Is Just A Number.

Age really is just a number and here’s proof. Each of the women in the photos featured in this blog post are at least 40 years old. While they might not have as much collagen as a 20 or 30 year old, they certainly are sexy, beautiful, full of life and worthy of experiencing this empowering photo session where they get to actually feel all of this and more.

Are You 40+?

If you are 40 or over, or you know of someone who is, please share this opportunity with them. As we all know, women do it all these days – career, manage the home, kids, activities etc – and like one of my clients said, doing an Empowering Photo Session is the best kind of self care! This is something we deserve and we need in our lives. A wee reminder that we are worthy and we deserve to feel amazing again.
