Celebrating Ageing With A Vancouver Portrait Photographer

We’re celebrating women here on the blog including the lovely Marcella! She and the others are women who have said yes to themselves! Those who are 40 years and older and who are embracing and celebrating ageing with me, Michele, a Vancouver Portrait Photographer. All this year I’m welcoming women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond into Mateus Studios for an empowering Custom Luxe Photo Session. This could include a Boudoir Photo Session, Beauty Images and even Maternity. We want to celebrate women of all ages and show the world that ageing doesn’t limit a woman’s worth! Later this year, all of these women will gather together and we’ll share their images and stories. You’re invited too!

I spent many years not feeling beautiful and focused too much on what others thought of me.

What Did You Enjoy Most About This Vancouver Boudoir Experience? How Did It Make You Feel About Yourself?

I enjoyed all of it! The warm reception with the personalized sign, the makeup, and hair, to feeling free and powerful posing for Michele.

What Have You Learned to Appreciate More as You Have Aged?

I am learning to like myself more, and be more comfortable in my own skin. It’s a work in progress, but I can definitely say I love myself more today than when I was 19.

How Has Your Relationship With Yourself and Your Body Changed Over Time?

I learned to appreciate the body features that I once felt were flaws. I feel a lot more powerful.

If You Could Go Back in Time and Meet Your 18 Year Old Self, What Would You Say to Her?

Don’t stress so much, and don’t feel so concerned about what others might think of you. You are beautiful. 🙂

What is Your Motto or Favourite Quote?

Never give up!

Having Now Participated in This Intimate Photo Shoot, What Advice Can You Offer Other Women Of All Ages, Around Ageing and Fully Embracing Who We Are In The Moment?

Ageing is inevitable. Love yourself no matter the age. Try to evolve with your body and beauty and you will feel comfortable being you at any age.
