Vancouver boudoir photoshoot: Tanya is Fabulous Beyond 40!

Women of all ages should be celebrated! That’s why I’m purposefully shooting a group of 40 women who are aged 40 and over because women are Fabulous Beyond 40! I want to showcase their fantasticness and badassness, and also show the world that life doesn’t end at 40. In fact, it begins!!!

As part of the 40 Over 40 experience, after their fine art intimate portraits photo shoot, I’m interviewing the women and then featuring their images and stories at a gallery-style exhibit later this year.

What Made You Want to Celebrate Being Fabulous Beyond 40?

Marital separation, and accepting who I am.

What Did You Enjoy Most About This Boudoir Experience? How Did It Make You Feel About Yourself?

Michele was so much fun to work with. Got my sarcasm, and we had a blast. She caught my Fun and soft side, and my wild side.

What Have You Learned to Appreciate More as You Have Aged?

Just being me!  The scars of Motherhood, laughing more and learning to appreciate the little things.

How Has Your Relationship With Yourself and Your Body Changed Over Time?

I have always battled weight. But as long as I am Healthy & Happy – I am Me.  I will never be a size 0 model, but beauty comes from within. So eat the damn cake (it better be chocolate)!

If You Could Go Back in Time and Meet Your 18 Year Old Self, What Would You Say to Her?

Stop worrying about what everyone else thinks. Chase your dreams, reach for the stars and above all else be happy. Do not stand in the shadows. Shine bright like the star you are (and have told my daughter and son this since they were little).

What is Your Motto or Favourite Quote?

“She is clothed in strength and dignity, and laughs without fear of the future.“

What Advice Can You Offer Other Women Of All Ages, Around Ageing and Fully Embracing Who We Are In The Moment (Which We Know is Hard To Do!)?

Enjoy every minute of your life, always think of one positive thought a day, remember that while you are so busy taking care of everything and everyone around you, to unplug and take some time for yourself also.
