I was 10 months post partum. I had had a baby, lost my mom and turned 40 all in the same year. I needed to do something that was for me, something that pampered me and made me feel special.

HOW HAS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR BODY CHANGED

OVER TIME?

I’ve had to work harder at my relationship with my body after 40. Before 40 and before kids I had a really healthy body image. I’ve had to work on loving my new curves and understanding that it is natural for bodies to change as we age, but also that I can re-invest in myself to improve my health and how I feel about my body.

HAVE AGED?

A good night’s sleep! The rejuvenating power of sleep is incredible and I prioritize making sure I can have a peaceful night sleep whenever possible.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU LIKE TO OFFER OTHER WOMEN?

You have the right to take up space, to have your needs met, to have time to yourself and to be joyful. You do not have to sacrifice these things for a job or a family. The sooner we establish these boundaries in life, the more likely we are to age gracefully and in health.
