How a Boudoir Outfit Change Reveals Different Facets of Ourselves
2020 wrapped up with this amazing shoot featuring Ms. A! She was on fire and I love how with each outfit change, the clothes and accessories were tools to help her explore different sides of her. She was always being her authentic self but was able to explore various facets that perhaps don’t come out on the regular. She was also excited to try on the leather mask which totally upped the fire factor in the studio as you can see in her images.
It gives me such joy being able to capture these beautiful moments for Ms. A and for every woman who comes into my studio. The boudoir experience itself is magical and the photos are a lifetime reminder of just how fantastic each of you are!
To begin though, let’s meet Ms. A and see what she had to say about her session.
Meet Ms. A!
What impact did doing a boudoir/intimate portrait session have on you?
My boudoir session definitely made me feel confident and beautiful and also gave me amazing photos to capture myself FEELING confident too.
What does being vulnerable mean to you? What do you want others to know about the impact of allowing ourselves to be vulnerable?
Being vulnerable to me means being able to be your true self. Letting your guard down and allowing yourself to shine and show who you really are.
How did you feel during the process of working together?
I immediately felt comfortable around Michele. Her laid back, welcoming vibe made it very easy to bare ( almost) all 😉 I also really loved how thorough she was with trying different angles, lighting, and outfits. I fully trusted she would do a great job.
What gets better with age?
Literally everything gets better with age. Confidence levels rise, you become more secure with who are as a person and you learn what you like and don’t like, and you don’t apologize for it.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
If I could tell myself anything it would be to simply love the skin you’re in. You have one life, one body, one chance. Enjoy yourself. Don’t take yourself too seriously. And don’t take other people’s opinions to heart.
What are three things you are grateful for in your life?
Three things I am grateful for in my life are my two boys for showing me unconditional love and reminding me to let loose and have fun, my husband for always being supportive of my choices, and my health especially these days.
What advice would you give someone on the fence about doing a boudoir/intimate portrait session with Mateus Studios?
Do it! Don’t be afraid. Michele will make you laugh and will make you feel like a total rock star.
Exploring Various Facets and Feelings
I love this statement by Ms. A: “My boudoir session definitely made me feel confident and beautiful and also gave me amazing photos to capture myself FEELING confident too.”
YES! So many women comment on how incredible they feel during the shoot itself. While they may have been nervous or perhaps didn’t think their body was good enough etc, when they actually do the shoot they feel amazing. And such a huge bonus, they get to see the photos that have captured that so that they can feel that same feeling for years to come. And on those not feeling so great days, they can look at the images again to remind themselves just how fantastic they are!! That incredibleness is always in them and the photos are concrete evidence of that.
Thank you Ms. A for firing me up at the end of a crazy year and inspiring me through the holidays and now, into 2021! I can’t wait to continue empowering women and capturing their awesomeness for them to return to again and again. Please contact me for your complimentary consultation and let’s do this for you too!
