Corrine Chose Boudoir Photography! Vancouver Boudoir Studio
It appears that for most of the women participating in my Fabulous Beyond 40 boudoir photography experience, that at one point in their lives they tried to be perfect. They felt, due to societal pressures, that perfection was really important and should be actively aimed for. Can you relate?!? I hope you’re saying no, but I’m pretty certain about 99% of you are saying ‘yes’ right now. Isn’t that just so sad?! I too felt I had to be something that I wasn’t. I’m so bothered by society telling us directly or indirectly, how we should look to feel valued.
Thankfully though, most of the 40 Over 40 participants also came to a place of self-acceptance and even self-love. They realized that trying to be perfect is ridiculous, because what is perfection?! Today’s client spotlight on muse Corrine, is one of those women who grew to accept and love herself and said yes to a boudoir photography session. Yay!!
Corrine plus the 39 other women aged 40+ are all celebrating with me, Vancouver Portrait Photographer, Michele Mateus, and together, we’re proving that age doesn’t diminish a woman’s beauty or power. We are telling the stories of these women and showing the world that Women Matter and age is just a number. All 40 of these women will be featured at an upcoming gallery-style exhibit and together we’ll honour all of our beautiful, authentic images, and individual real-life stories.

What Made You Want to Celebrate Being Fabulous By Doing A Boudoir Photography Photo Session?
My journey is not one that many are blessed and have the opportunity to experience or share. I wanted to ensure I had a keepsake that I could look back on and reflect at how fulfilling my life has been.
What Did You Enjoy Most About This Vancouver Boudoir Experience? How Did It Make You Feel About Yourself?
What I enjoyed most is how wonderfully Michele captured my story, my personality and my expectations! The results are definitely going to make me smile every time I look back and reminisce.
What Have You Learned to Appreciate More as You Have Aged?
I’ve learned to value those that bring joy in my life; enjoy and share experiences that make your gut hurt because you laughed so hard.
How Has Your Relationship With Yourself and Your Body Changed Over Time?
Not to fixate on being perfect and embracing the body that brought two beautiful human beings into the world.
If You Could Go Back in Time and Meet Your 18 Year Old Self, What Would You Say to Her?
I could never have imagined my trajectory would have taken the course it did, I graduated high school 7 months pregnant and could have easily been a typical teen mom statistic. If I could go back and meet my 18 year old self, I would say to her; nothing in this world will hold you back from accomplishing your dreams.
What is Your Motto or Favourite Quote?
Avoid being mediocre, life is too short to be average.
Having Now Participated in This Intimate Boudoir Photography Session, What Advice Can You Offer Other Women Of All Ages, Around Ageing and Fully Embracing Who We Are In The Moment?
You own you, you drive your destiny, take a hold of the wheel and own it. Life is hard, hard work pays off! Shield the bullshit and you do you! Never regret, never compare and failure is a sign of growth. No one else matters except you, family and those that bring joy to your life!
